A metallic silver colouring used exclusively for decorating the surface of confectionery, cakes, and sugar-coated products. It is not meant to be eaten in large amounts — purely a visual finish. Approved in the EU only for surface decoration, not as a general food ingredient. Some health concerns exist around aluminium accumulation in the body over time, though the quantities from decorative use are considered negligible.
