A natural antioxidant — the calcium salt form of vitamin C. Used to prevent browning and preserve colour and freshness in fruits, vegetables, fish, and meat preparations. Widely regarded as one of the safest additives in use. Not only harmless at typical food levels — it actually contributes a small amount of both vitamin C and calcium to your diet. No known safety concerns from regulatory bodies including EFSA and FDA.
