A natural antioxidant derived from vegetable oils — essentially a concentrated form of vitamin E. It prevents fats and oils from going rancid by blocking oxidation, extending shelf life without synthetic chemicals. Found in cooking oils, baby formulas, and infant cereals. Considered very safe, even for infants. Vitamin E is a nutrient the body needs, so this additive actually contributes nutritional value. No significant safety concerns raised by EFSA or FDA.
