A mineral salt used as a raising agent, anti-caking agent, and acidity regulator. Found in baking powders, powdered sweeteners, and processed cereal foods. It's essentially calcium and phosphorus — nutrients your body already needs. Generally recognised as safe by EFSA and FDA. At normal dietary levels, no health concerns. It may even contribute a small amount of calcium to your diet.
