A naturally derived salt of tartaric acid, produced from grapes during winemaking. It acts as an acidity regulator and stabiliser, helping control pH in food products. Found in very few food categories, meaning exposure is generally minimal. Considered safe by EFSA with no notable health concerns at typical usage levels.
