A synthetic anti-caking agent used exclusively in salt to keep it free-flowing and prevent clumping. It releases tiny amounts of cyanide compounds, but at authorised levels these are considered toxicologically insignificant by EFSA. Approved for use in table salt only, at very low concentrations.
