It works synergistically with glutamates — meaning tiny amounts create a much stronger effect together. Found in soups, snack seasonings, and instant noodles. Generally considered safe at typical food use levels. Those with gout should be cautious — like all guanylates, it breaks down into purines in the body, which can raise uric acid levels.
