A propellant gas used in aerosol food sprays, like cooking oil sprays. It helps dispense the oil as a fine mist without affecting taste or nutrition. The same gas is used in lighters and camping stoves, but food-grade propane is highly purified. Exposure from cooking sprays is considered negligible — the amounts that could enter food are extremely small.
