Ingredients

Easily recognizable by its distinctive thin black layer in the middle. 'Buisson' cow's milk cheese MORBIER, aged for 45 days, is a semi-soft cheese with a black layer of vegetable carbon in the middle (E153). It currently serves more of a decorative function; this layer was previously made of ash. Morbier cheese was produced from both western and eastern milk, hence to protect the western milk, the cheese was covered with an ash layer, and the next day, it was filled with eastern milk at the cheese factory. Ivory-colored, fairly elastic, with a yellow sticky rind. Quite light, with a pronounced cream flavor. We recommend tasting it alone, grilling it and serving it with vegetables or otherwise. Named after the commune of Morbier in France.
