It is a more intense flavored variant of cheddar due to the long aging time. Tasting reveals creaminess, with hints of butter and nuts. Fat content 45% m/m. A fairly versatile cheese that can be used in both savory and sweet dishes. Grate and sprinkle over soups, pizzas, stews, pasta, or use when making cookies. Of course, it's delicious to taste on its own! It is called cheddar cheese because there is a step in the production process, called cheddaring, that is unusual for other cheeses.
